The war in Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) under General Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) under General Hamdan Dagolo has plunged millions of people into a humanitarian catastrophe and exposed them to multiple kinds of violence.
On the 15th of April 2026, three years after the start of the war, the third ministerial conference on Sudan will take place in Berlin.
Among the conference guests are many countries which have contributed to the conflict by supporting one of the sides and in some cases even both sides. While the war in Sudan has led to the most severe humanitarian crisis in the world today, internationally the war has been widely ignored.
Even more so, the suffering and perspectives of civilians in Sudan, and especially those who are multi-marginalised e.g. due to gender, class, and ethnicity, have been sidelined.
On the 11th of April 2026, ahead of the Sudan Summit in Berlin, we are organizing Centering Sudanese Voices. Our goal is to develop and strengthen decolonial solidarity approaches and movement building, while making an international audience hear the needs and demands from different and especially marginalised perspectives of Sudan.
By exposing international interests and involvements in regards to Sudan, this conference will send a message to the governmental Sudan Summit to keep Sudanese civilian needs and demands in the centre of any efforts.
